Article: FORT WORTH FINDS STRENGTH, FUTURE IN COWTOWN HERITAGE

FORT WORTH - Steve Fisher is not a regular reader of W, the international fashion and society publication, so he was unaware that it recently included Fort Worth in its much-followed annual list of ``In'' places, people and things.

He was not overly dazzled when informed of the honor.

It's a good question. But trendiness can work in strange ways. Fort Worth missed most of the economic and public relations benefits of the Texas boom, but while the rest of the state has cooled off, these are relatively heady times in a town that traditionally has been content to go by the nickname of Cowtown.
