Article: MCGRAW-HILL TO STOP WORK IN SOUTH AFRICA

NEW YORK - McGraw-Hill Inc. will end all operations in South Africa, in accordance with a resolution passed yesterday by the company's board of directors.

McGraw-Hill's activities in South Africa include a wholly owned subsidiary, McGraw-Hill Book Co. (South Africa) (Pty.), Limited, which publishes instructional materials for all levels of education in South Africa and several surrounding countries. McGraw-Hill is currently negotiating with the South African management of the subsidiary to sell them the company.

McGraw-Hill, which purchased The Economy Co. of Oklahoma City in 1986, will also halt the sale of all products to South Africa.
