Office vacancy rates in Oklahoma City jumped 3 percent to 29.2
percent during the first quarter, according to a report released
Tuesday by Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services.
It is the highest vacancy rate for the metropolitan area since
the Coldwell Banker Office Vacancy Index was started in 1982.
The vacancy rate has risen for seven of the last eight quarters,
according to the index. The lone exception was in the fourth
quarter of 1986 when the rate fell to 26.2 percent from 26.4 percent
in the third quarter.
During the eight quarters the rate has risen from 21.9 percent
to 29.2 percent, according to the index prepared by the Oklahoma
City Coldwell Banker office.
