Show Place Arena plans to reopen dates reserved for the new
Continental Basketball Association team if a decision is not made
shortly about whether it will play this season, officials in Upper
Marlboro said Monday.
Bill Chambers, general manager for Show Place, said the arena has
been holding reserved dates for the CBA since the league reached an
agreement July 12 with United Sports Ventures, but is getting
inquiries regarding some of the dates--most of which are weeknights.
"The contracts are ready for their signatures for all 28 home
dates," he said. "They're going to have to be signed. . . . If not,
then I have to release the dates."
