Article: VALUE OF PROPERTY SOLD AT PUBLIC AUCTIONS SOARS/UP TO $44.9 MILLION

The appraised value of property in Oklahoma County sold at public auction soared to $44.9 million in March, according to figures from the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department.

The 476 pieces of property sold during the month had an appraised value of more than $44.9 million, up 30.2 percent from $27.5 million in February and up 277 percent from $11.9 million in March 1986.

Both the appraised value and total number of properties sold are the most recorded during any month of the 1980s.

Not only were these the record-high figures, but the appraised value in March nearly equals the totals for January and February combined, which were an apparent record $48 million.
