It was in 1937 that Randy Shaw, then 18, first went to work at
Beverly's Restaurant.
Shaw, a native of Marlow, Okla., was promoted to manager the
second night.
"I went to work washing dishes so I could go to high school and
then to junior college," said Shaw, "I got $2 a day for 12 hours
work. If I had $2 tips it was a huge night."
Now 50 years later, Shaw is the owner of Beverly's Restaurants
as the company celebrates its 66th anniversary.
Beverly's Restaurant Day has been proclaimed for May 19 by Mayor
Ron Norick.
"Beverly's is inviting everyone to come by for 5 cent ice cream
and coffee throughout the day," said Shaw, "along with free cake
and coffee being served from 2:30 ...
