It could have been an ominous sign. The first play from scrimmage
in Stone Bridge's football history was a false start by the Bulldogs.
But Stone Bridge didn't let that play dictate its fate, despite
showing plenty of rookie mistakes in its 23-20 home loss to the
Potomac School on Friday night. Sure, for Bulldogs Coach Mickey
Thompson and his staff, there were a distressing number of penalties,
too many miscommunications on both sides of the ball, and just
simple, incomplete execution at times.
But for the better part of the four quarters, Stone Bridge looked
nothing like a first-year program. They showed strong command of
