About 12 agents were producing annual premium of about $100,000 for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Oklahoma back in 1958, when William E. Branham became general agent.

Branham was only 28, but he had sold everything from magazines to mops during his boyhood and college years, and he had been an agent for Connecticut Mutual since 1951. Most important, he had set out from the beginning to become a general agent.
