A potential increase in the rating of Oklahoma Turnpike Authority
bonds could mean significant savings to the state on the cost to the
state if bonds are issued for future Oklahoma turnpikes, according
to Bob Cochran, of Stifel, Nicolaus & Co.
Turnpike authority members Thursday approved a total of $1.77
million in consulting and traffic engineer studies on the proposed
Oklahoma City By-Pass, the Tulsa By-Pass and the proposed turnpike
from State Hwy. 33 to the Arkansas border.
A possible upgrading of the turnpike authority's bonds was
suggested when representatives of Standard & Poor's bond rating
