Article: 94% OF LAWYERS THINK CONSTITUTION STILL VIABLE, SAYS POLL

Ninety-four percent of U.S. lawyers think the U.S. Constitution is aging well and is not out-of-date even after two centuries of service, according to a poll published in the September issue of ABA Journal.

Although 68 percent of the lawyers polled think the Electoral College should be eliminated in favor of direct election of the president, most of the profession would not support major changes in the Constitution.

Poll results also indicate that 78 percent of the nation's lawyers oppose a constitutional convention.
