Article: MONEY FUNDS THRIVE IN CAUTIOUS INVESTMENT PERIOD

A few weeks ago, John Chancellor, the commentator on ``The NBC Nightly News,'' said that with the recent events on Wall Street, the '80s were already over. I guess the point he was trying to make was that the bubble had burst, especially for the ``yuppie investment bankers'' to whom he was referring.

But folks, forgive my eternal optimism. Yes, many of us had a rough time with the rapid decline on the stock market. But we must not sit around licking our wounds.

We must regroup and figure out what new opportunities lie ahead. And while we're doing that, money funds are a darned good place to park our money.
