The recent reassignment of former Oklahoma City Finance Director
Don Bown to director of the city's general services department drew
the attention of many city employees, but Bown said the situation
has been overplayed.
Bown said he was reassigned by City Manager Terry Childers to
clear up some management problems that had been occurring in the
department, and that the reassignment had no bearing on his role as
city finance director.
"There were some management problems in the general services
department that were causing Terry (Childers) some real concerns,"
Bown said. "And he asked me to address them immediately.
