With other premier players from the Big East Conference grouped by
team and seated at small tables in the club level of Giants Stadium
today at the league's annual media day, Virginia Tech quarterback
Michael Vick was pulled aside. And--as a mere warmup to the frenzy
that is sure to surround him this football season--he was thrust into
the spotlight.
Vick, a redshirt sophomore who finished third in the voting for
the Heisman Trophy last season after leading the Hokies to an 11-1
record (7-0 Big East) and a No. 2 ranking, held court by the center
podium for more than an hour, fielding questions on everything from
baseball and fishing to his family and eating habits.
