A "housecleaning" bill for the Oklahoma Banking Commissioner's Office
containing an amendment which has the commissioner concerned about
possible circumvention of a new branch bank law passed the Oklahoma
House of Representatives Wednesday by a vote of 98 to 1.
After Senate Bill 501 was passed, Banking Commissioner Wayne
Osborn said he still is confident any possible problems can be
ironed out in conference committee, where the measure will go after
the Oklahoma Senate considers the House amendments.
Rep. Harold Hale, D-El Reno, struck the bill's title to insure
it would go to conference committee.
