Article: CITY GETS COMMITMENT FOR WATER SKI EVENTS

By Carol Ringrose The American Water Ski Association will hold water ski competitions in Oklahoma City.

They will award at least one national or international competition to Oklahoma City each year from 1993 to 1996, said Pat Downes, general manager of the Riverfront Redevelopment Authority.

One of these tournaments will be the American Water Ski Association national waterski championship and there are 10 other competitions to be considered.

The commitment to bring national waterskiing events to Oklahoma City is "quite a coup" for the city, said Downes.
