HOUSTON - An agreement for Swift Energy Co. of Houston to purchase interests in oil and gas properties in six states, including Oklahoma, for about $52.1 million, has been announced.

"Our continued aggressiveness in the acquisition of producing oil and gas reserves demonstrates the company's and its partners' confidence in the future of the domestic oil and gas industry," said A. Earl Swift, chairman and president of Swift Energy.
