Article: ENERGY CENTER TO FOCUS ON NATURAL GAS RESEARCH

Research of natural gas, as an increasingly potential future energy source, remains a goal of The Energy Center in Norman despite funding setbacks.

Barnet "Barney" Groten, executive director of the center at the University of Oklahoma, has said The Energy Center hopes to focus on crucial natural gas basic research with a goal of gaining national, if not international, renown in the industry.

"Natural gas. . .has been for much of its history a low-valued commodity whose full technical potential has never been developed," said Philip Chandler, deputy director of The Energy Center.
