Article: TRIAL RACES OFFER COMPETITIVE FIELDS

Although Quarter Horse trial races are not popular betting races with many fans, don't let today's trials for the $300,000 Remington Park Derby discourage you from a day at the races this afternoon.

The first seven trial races offer the most competitive fields I've seen this summer. Several of the races offer three and four horses capable of winning. The toughest to handicap are the second, third and seventh races. The 1988 Black Gold Champion, Dorasun, 1989 Canterbury Derby Winner Osceola Warrior, 1989 Rainbow Derby runner-up My Dash and six out of seven winner Dashing Blue Jeans face off in the second race.
