Shaun Hill knows the doubters have always existed. Coming out of
high school and, subsequently, junior college, Hill was aware that
few college coaches believed he could play major college football.
But after quarterbacks coach Mike Gundy stumbled upon Hill while
recruiting a cornerback, Maryland took a chance. And after recovering
from a separated right shoulder suffered in the first 30 minutes of
the season, Hill rewarded the Terrapins by guiding Maryland to its
biggest comeback since 1993.
Hill, whose style is not the smoothest, threw two touchdowns
passes and rushed for a two-point conversion in regulation then
scored the game-winning touchdown on a one-yard sneak in the second
overtime, ...
