Article: REVENUE PASSENGER MILES UP 6.1% FOR SOUTHWEST AIRLINES IN SEPTEMBER

DALLAS - Revenue passenger miles flown by Southwest Airlines Co. increased 6.1 percent 696.4 million in September 1989, a 6.1 percent increase over the 656.6 million revenue passenger miles flown in September 1988, the company said Monday.

Available seat miles increased 8.8 percent to 1,253.7 million from the September 1988 level of 1,152.7 million available seat miles. The load factor for the month was 55.6 percent compared to last year's load factor of 57 percent.

For the third quarter of 1989, Southwest flew a record 2,447.9 million revenue passenger miles, compared with 2,138.8 million revenue passenger miles recorded for the same period in 1988, an increase of 14.5 percent.
