The Golf Channel is eye candy both for hackers and heavyweights
such as Tiger Woods who watch it faithfully for far-away tournaments,
free and easy instruction and lots of golf talk and information on
its signature "Golf Central" show, a nightly so-called "news"
program.
Mostly it carries fluffy stuff, but there's a serious side, as
well, almost always revolving around Peter Kessler, one of its
marquee broadcasters who hosts several shows and has made a
reputation as a golf historian and a curious, inquisitive interviewer
of some of the game's biggest names.
A few weeks ago, Kessler got on the soapbox on the subject of
equipment that does not conform to U.S. Golf Association standards.
