The invitation said "7,107. It only happens in the
Philippines."
Guests were bid by Oklahoman William Howell, chief executive
officer of the J.C. Penney Co., to a dinner celebrating his firm's
upcoming Festival of the Philippines. The dinner, held at the
historic Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles during the Men's Fashion
Association spring/summer fashion preview, gave invitees the
opportunity to taste an authentic Philippine meal. As the
invitation pointed out, of course, the Philippines is comprised of
7,107 islands with 7,107 varied styles of cooking.
