DALLAS - A 7.3 percent increase in revenue passenger miles was reported Thursday for January by American Airlines Inc., which services Oklahoma City.

The carrier reported it flew 5.68 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in January, up from 5.29 billion in January 1989. The airline experienced its fifth busiest day in history on Jan. 2, when it flew more than 268 million revenue passenger miles.
