Rich Lowry oozes niceness. His aw-shucks charm and boyish grin
have a way of disarming even those who can't stand his conservative
views.
As the 32-year-old editor of National Review, tapped by William F.
Buckley to revitalize the conservative biweekly, Lowry has enjoyed
some modest success. But as a television pundit blanketing the
election season airwaves, he's been on fire.
Lowry is often paired with Katrina vanden Heuvel, the liberal
editor of the Nation, who praised his gentlemanly approach to
televised combat. But she called back days later to say that Lowry
had gotten personal and rude with her.
