Article: Oklahoma City, Houston Offices of Oryx to Close

From Staff, Wire Reports The Oklahoma City and Houston regional offices of Oryx Energy Co.

will be closed by the end of first quarter 1992 as part of a plan to cut 1,000 employees and $100 million from its annual operating costs, the company announced Monday.

Office employees of the Oklahoma City Oryx office at 14000 Quail Springs Parkway, in Quail Springs Corporate Park, were told of the plan Monday and options they would be offered, said David Clarke, director of public affairs in the Oklahoma City office.

Oryx employs about 700 people in the Oklahoma City region, although only 190 work in the Oklahoma City office.
