Total quality control management has propelled Oklahoma
City-based Ted Davis Manufacturing from a backyard operation to one
with the strength to steal major customers away from some of the
largest Japanese companies, such as Hitachi Ltd.
Two of those new customers are computer giants International
Business Machines Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. The new business
was obtained within the last three months and is proof of the
growth potential for the local company, which builds clean room
assemblies for disk drives.
Ted Davis, president and chief executive officer, said the
extra business fattened the Oklahoma City payroll by about 60 to 70
jobs.
