Article: Garden Center in Tulsa Reflects Community Effort

TULSA _ When I first drove into the Tulsa Garden Center, I was almost overwhelmed by the beautiful Italianyle villa that is perched on top of a hill. It overlooks a spacious lawn accented by gracious old trees that add to the splendor.

The mansion seems natural enough at 2435 S. Peoria, taking its rightful place amid the wonderful old homes built by the oil wealth of Tulsa's past. I was expecting to see flowers along the drive and walks all around the mansion, sort of like a European palace, with antiques abounding inside. I was wrong.
