Article: Air Show Prepared for Sudden Storms

If a sudden severe storm should arise this weekend, much like Sunday's squall which dumped sailboats in Lake Hefner, downed trees and power lines and turned creeks into raging torrents, spectators at Aerospace America '92 will see the results of seven years worth of planning.

Because of the wet and turbulent weather of the past month, planners at the air show, which starts Friday at Will Rogers World Airport, are keeping a close watch on the sky. Anything less than a torrential downpour or severe thunderstorm will not stop the show. Aerial performances may be somewhat abbreviated, however.

Of course, spectators may get wet if it rains. But paved parking will be opened, and some performers ...
