You can help "mow down" pollution right in your backyard.
It may sound corny, but 85 new cordless Black Decker
electric lawn mowers soon will be given away, free and forever,
by Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. as part of a nationwide program.
Details were announced Tuesday, although the program was aired in
early August by federal officials.
To qualify, you must trade in your old, gasolinewered push
mower. A crossction of mowers are being sought for the program,
which includes emissions testing of the old mowers by the
Environmental Protection Agency.
