Article: Domestic Car, Truck Sales Up 12% in Early November

DETROIT (AP) _ Automakers reported Monday that domestic car and truck sales rose 12.4 percent in early November, extending the momentum of strength seen elsewhere in the economy.

Car sales rose 13.1 percent and light trucks were up 11.4 percent, led by year-to-year gains at General Motors Corp.

Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Corp. each reported single-digit improvement in the Nov. 1-10 period. Combined Big Three sales were up 10.5 percent while Japanese automakers with factories in the United States reported a 29 percent sales improvement.
