The Saving Quality Jobs Act, House Bill 2093, has passed the
Oklahoma Senate 43-0 and gone back to the House of
Representatives for approval of amendments.
Approved last week, House Bill 2093 would establish new
economic development incentives to enhance last year's Quality
Jobs Program Act. Under legislation enacted last year, qualified
employers with at least $2.5 million in new payroll can get a
withholding tax rebate based on new jobs created.
The Saving Quality Jobs Act would set up a premium payment, in
addition to what was received under the Quality Jobs Act, for
companies at risk of losing existing jobs because of
restructuring or consolidation.
