Article: Radio Shack Courts Trucker Sales With Truck-stop Kiosks

FORT WORTH _ Radio Shack, the Tandy Corp. subsidiary that made a fortune selling CB radios in the 1970s, is looking to hit the road again.

But this time, the Fort Worth consumer electronics chain wants to sell truckers more than the two-way radios used to keep track of smokies. Now, Radio Shack is betting that truckers are a ripe market for everything from portable televisions to electronic toys.

The retailer said that it has reached agreement to open kiosks this year that will sell consumer electronics products in more than 100 truck stops nationwide.
