Article: '94 State Fair May See 1.8 Million Visitors

Activity is increasing daily on the fairgrounds of the State Fair of Oklahoma, with all of the elements gradually being assembled for a 17-day run of the 88th state fair, which begins Friday.

The State Fair of Oklahoma, behind all its glitter, showmanship and carnival rides _ that's called "the flash" in fair circles _ is the annual showcase of Oklahoma's business economy, both the rural agricultural and urban industrial.

The 1994 fair, with all its new and return attractions to provide "the flash," is predicted to attract 1.8 million visitors, said Corle Pierce, assistant general manager of the State Fair of Oklahoma.
