Article: Samsung to Announce Plant Location

Samsung Electronics Co. will announce by next week whether it will build a planned U.S. semiconductor plant in Texas or Oregon, the two finalists for the $1.28 billion facility.

A spokeswoman for Samsung of Seoul, South Korea's largest electronics maker, said the company has narrowed the decision down to the two states. Company and government officials have previously said California and Kansas City were also in the running.

Samsung is the world's largest provider of memory semiconductors, widely used for personal computers and electronic appliances.
