Boeing will likely get the maximum tax rebate benefit available
through the Quality Jobs Act because the projected average new job
salary is so high.
Boeing announced Monday it plans to add 1,005 new jobs in Oklahoma
City during approximately the next five years.
The average salary will be $42,000.
Under the jobs incentive act, qualifying companies creating new
jobs in the state can get a quarterly rebate of up to 5 percent of
taxes paid during the previous quarter.
Rarely do companies get as much as 5 percent, said Bill Maus,
director, corporate site locations for the state Department of
Commerce.
"But I believe they (Boeing) will because of the magnitude of the
job creation," he said.
