A contentious citizens watchdog committee voicing serious concerns
over the city's MAPS inspection process forced last minute
concessions Wednesday from the architect for the Bricktown Ballpark
before finally approving a $398,000 increase in the architect's
contract.
MAPS Citizens Oversight Board members have been complaining for
weeks that the city is spending money needlessly on a project
inspection process that construction industry leaders have called a
joke.
Those same board members also have complained that the ballpark's
inspection deal with Oklahoma City-based Architectural Design Group
differed "significantly" from other MAPS inspection contracts.
