PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- America's favorite pastime and the
corporate world mingle for a month in this sleepy community that
serves as home to the Texas Rangers' spring training camp.
The peaceful area lends itself to the task of breaking in baseball
players for the season. But an undercurrent of business deals,
relationships and strategic partnerships all being formed makes for
an unusual sideline to a time commonly believed to be free of
regular-season pressures.
