Article: $245,000 set aside for self-employment agencies

OKLAHOMA CITY (JR) -- A total of $245,000 in funding has been approved for 13 community action agencies to support self-employment loan activities.

The grants were announced by Gov. Frank Keating and Leo Presley, executive director of the Department of Commerce.

The awards were distributed through a community services block grant for the Self-Employment Entrepreneurial Development System, also known as Seeks, program administered by the department. The 13 community action agencies, along with the seven existing participants, will provide Seeds program services statewide.
