NASHVILLE (JR) -- Columbia/HCA Healthcare has signed letters of
intent to sell its home care operations in 11 states, including
Oklahoma, for $34 million, the company announced Tuesday.
Amedisys Inc. of Baton Rouge, La., will buy operations in Alabama,
Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Tennessee.
A private group of investors, led by former Homecare Inc. chief
executive George Mandes and board member Robert Reeves, will purchase
Columbia's operations in Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, Oregon and Wyoming.
Mandes was chief executive and president of the Wallingford,
Conn., company from 1992-97.
Columbia spokesman Gary Koops declined to say how much each deal
was worth, but said the home ...
