NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Shoney's is closing 50 restaurants and
selling 34 others to the owner of the Big Boy chain as new management
continues to shake up the ailing chain.
The affected restaurants are mainly in the Midwest. The
announcement Tuesday came 1 1/2 months after Shoney's said it would
close 35 other restaurants by the end of October.
No other sales or closings are planned, though some additional
Shoney's restaurants may be franchised, company officials said.
The company has closed all seven of its Shoney's Restaurant
locations in Oklahoma.
Last week, the Nashville-based eatery closed its sole Oklahoma
City location at 4420 W. Interstate 40. The company also recently
