Article: Bucher to join law firm in January; Departing Waukesha County DA will practice in New Berlin

Waukesha - Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher said Thursday that he will join a New Berlin law firm when he winds up an 18 1/2 -year stint as the county's top prosecutor in January.

Bucher, who decided not to run for re-election as district attorney when he launched his unsuccessful campaign for state attorney general last year, will practice law in a variety of areas with an emphasis on litigation when he joins Gatzke & Ruppelt.

Bucher said his emphasis will be on criminal defense, complex civil litigation, federal civil rights, election law and open records law.
