PLEASANTON -- Upon finishing a round at Callippe Preserve Golf
Course in Pleasanton, it is not uncommon for golfers to feel as if
they've just taken a scenic hike through some of the East Bay's most
beautiful natural surroundings.
"You have 18 opportunities to create a different experience for
the golfer," said the course's designer, Brian Costello. "Even if
you're not necessarily playing very well, you're appreciating the
outdoors and having a great day."
It was Costello's deference to the existing natural elements that
surround the 145-acre, 18-hole course off of Happy Valley Road that
recently landed Callippe on Golf Digest's list of Best New Golf
Courses of 2006.
