Article: Muskego, historical society mend ties; Officials work together to craft agreement on city's Settlement Centre

Muskego - In a way, the head of the Muskego Historical Society figures that Charles Damaske did the group a favor.

Before the former mayor attacked the group, society members hardly talked with city leaders about their landlord-tenant relationship.

Now, both sides are trying to make a fresh start at the city- owned Old Muskego Settlement Centre.

All it took to reach this point was a conflict that grabbed headlines, paralyzed the historical society and led to Damaske's political downfall.

"It's not what he meant to happen," said Joe Roman, the society's president. "But it's going to turn out to be good for everybody."
