Article: Snack bar part of ebb and flow

On a good day the tuna sandwiches, chips, soft drinks and cookies sold at Don Wistuba's snack bar in the Capitol fuel the legislative body.

When demand for those items falls below expectations, and the ongoing renovation of the Statehouse has raised new impediments to operating a sound business, the crew Wistuba employs does more standing than merchandising.

"It's an interesting business. Sort of like government," said Wistuba, who has been blind since birth and has been a fixture in the downtown Topeka landmark for three decades.
