Article: MARQUETTE 67, RUTGERS 47; A winter tuneup; Golden Eagles roll to their eighth-straight Big East victory

It wasn't pretty, but the Marquette Golden Eagles nonetheless ran their Big East-best winning streak to eight games Wednesday night, beating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 67-47, at the Bradley Center.

Five players scored in double figures for 11th-ranked MU (21-4, 8- 2), led by Ousmane Barro's 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Jerel McNeal, Wesley Matthews, Dan Fitzgerald and David Cubillan all finished with 10 points for the Golden Eagles, who rode a 40-28 advantage on the glass.

Marquis Webb scored 12 points to pace Rutgers (9-15, 2-9), an awful offensive team that slowed the game down early in hopes of sticking in it to the end.
