You know that novel you're planning to write, the one that
trashes everyone in your hometown?
Go ahead, write it. But don't go back home and expect a parade.
That's the moral of "October Road," a not-bad, not-great drama
getting a tryout for a few weeks in the slot normally occupied by
"Men in Trees."
Bryan Greenberg ("One Tree Hill") stars as Nick Garrett, who left
home after high school graduation and, instead of coming back in the
fall as planned, stayed away for a decade.
