WASHINGTON -- The White House opposes pending legislation that
would add an additional House seat for Utah and grant a vote for the
District of Columbia, a spokesman confirmed Friday morning.
The House Judiciary Committee approved the bill Thursday, sending
it to the full House for a vote that is expected to come at the end
of the month. Bill supporters acknowledged they don't have all the
votes they need in the Senate just yet but are working on getting
support.
DC Vote executive director Ilir Zherka said that there had not
been a positive response from the White House so far and White House
