SAN RAMON -- A week after a brutal beating outside of a San
Francisco nightclub, a San Ramon man remains in a coma as
investigators look for three suspects who apparently picked their
victim at random.
Buck Spillner, 20, met some friends last Tuesday night at Club
NV, a South of Market hip-hop club. After leaving, Spillner and a
friend were confronted by a group of three men, who asked them if
they were affiliated with a gang.
"My nephew said they're not into that, and didn't want any
trouble," said Phil Ribera, who lives in Hayward.
According to San Francisco police, the group of attackers
followed Spillner and his friend down the 200 block of Second Street
