A bloc of three Cedarburg School Board incumbents outpolled a
teacher-backed challenger Tuesday.
Meanwhile, in Port Washington, a longtime incumbent was trounced
by a challenger, while another was re-elected in Mequon.
With all precincts reporting, unofficial results showed that
Cedarburg School Board President John Pendergast, Vice President Pat
McComis and board member Chuck Buehler each outpolled challenger Dan
Carr, a guidance counselor at Maple Grove Elementary School in
Greenfield.
During the campaign, Carr had emphasized his teaching background,
which he said was a missing ingredient on the School Board and would
help smooth the testy relations between district teachers and the
