Who can resist the adrenaline rush of the thrill rides at the
amusement park? In our relatively safe society we don't get many
opportunities to place ourselves in danger, to experience high
speeds, twisting turns and the heart-in-your-throat feeling provided
by these thrill rides. Whether people need thrills in their lives is
another debate, but the fact remains that rides that provide them are
staples at amusement parks all over the country.
Some folks will wait in line for hours for a few minutes of
excitement, plunging from the heights and swinging on a track above
the earth. The excitement comes from the imagined danger involved in
